Does anyone have any . . . ?

We at the garden like to play Settlers of Catan. It is a fun board game where you build settlements and cities on an island. Each settlement or city is next to a resource (wood, ore, clay, wheat ro sheep) which has a number on it (2-12). When the dice are rolled, anyone on a resource with that number gets to collect that resource.

Since some people will tend to collect more resources than others, market power and tradin will ensue. Prices are VERY flexible and some more shrewd players may even try to take advantage of others. Well, the gardener and I have played quite a bit with our neighbors and neither of us seem to be able to win. We even took the red pieces away from Beatta. She didn't win, but Scott (who had a lot of crappy numbers) did. Maybe we just are not meant to win at settlers. Will we stop playing? No. Can we ever beat the Bosworths? Maybe with an aluminum bat . . . (ps. Thanks to the board game gallery at martybugs.net for the picture)

We play this with Retep's family. I think I have won the last two times I have played against him and his brothers. Fun game. Good luck in trying to win.
