Prayer and Joy

These are our topics for speaking this Sunday. I just laughed when M.G. told me. How we decide who was going to take which topic? Who needed to work on which one more. Can you guess which one I took?

You guessed it...Joy. Apparently my husband agrees...what I'm not joyful enough? gee whatever gave you that idea. Ha Ha! (I do have moments of joy but I am hardly out of my house for others to notice) Then he said maybe he was doing something wrong with prayer, since he wasn't getting a job, and he should cover that topic. This should be interesting.

So I have the stress of this talk, which I hate doing, and there is this weird stomach bug going around our house that finally caught up to me this week. Not helping with the stress. M.G. is being very gracious in trying to help me in any way he can.

The only fight we have had in our marriage thus far was in our first year of marriage when Steven offered us to give talks; I was furious. Apparently we didn't cover my fear of public speaking before getting married. I have since realized the stupidity of it and now just try to suck it up. Still doesn't mean I have to like it. Can't wait for this whole week to be over.

Curt and I spoke last week on Unity and Pride...they didn't give us a choice though, I was Unity. I've always thought that it is silly that the guys usually get assigned to speak last, as if women don't have the skill set of being able to be flexible to fill the time without going over. Oh well, not the end of the world.

I have often wondered about the men speaking last as well. A lot of women can wing it just as well as a man can. But, when they tell us we have 20 minutes, I tell M.G. I'll take 8 and you take 12 minutes.

Gee, I think we must be related. You seem to share my sentiment for speaking in public. :)

p.s.- Just watched the video of MG and Dragonfly (is that still his name?) and it was so adorable, I think I'll watch it again!

I have been the final speaker and I was quite surprised. I really don't mind speaking. I would rather give a talk than teach a lesson to adults any day.

what I got out of that was that you guys have only ever had 1 fight! Um, you should be teaching the marriage and family relations class instead :) Props on that one.
