Rock- Paper-Scissors anyone?

So, I have finally figured out how to win at Rock-Paper-Scissors every time. The key? Make sure that you can make your opponent's strategy as predictable as possible. Most people are horrible randomizers. We are creatures of habit and patterns. Even though we are trying to be random, we are not and there is some underlying process by which we choose what to play in RPS. So if you can get your opponent to become very predictable, then it becomes hard for you to lose (you can win or tie, but it's hard to lose).

You can read more about it here. I will paraphrase my favorites:

If you are playing against a man, more often than not he will lead with rock (something about manliness and hardness of a rock). So you are pretty safe to lead with paper or rock.

If you are playing someone more experienced, then they probably won't lead with rock. So play a scissors.

Scissors is statistically underplayed (some 29.6% as opposed to the 33.3333%), so you are statistically safe playing paper.

All else fails, start taunting you opponent. Or use the Force to influence what item the person will play.

It wasn't too hard to figure out who posted this one. But, Steven, you only used "statistically" two times.

A RPS tournament was held here recently. Huge publicity and write up in the paper. You will have to enter some day!
